I am starting to design for the first show of the year and thought I would base a group of patterns on things that are in my home. I have wonderful ceramics and have often based designs on my collection. I drew this expresso cup recently and liked it enough to try making a pattern out of it. I am teaching myself Illustrator CS5 and used what I have learned so far to work on this project. I am limited to how many colors we are able to register when we print, and to the size of the pattern. I have other inspiring things around my home, just waiting to be put into repeat.
